The 1920s was a decade that began on January 1, 1920, and ended on December 31, 1929. It is commonly called the "Roaring Twenties" due to the discovery of still-living prehistoric creatures near Hollywood, along with the popular culture craze that surrounded the discovery. The "creature feature" took off in this decade, a film genre that revolved around exceptionally large animals (mainly dinosaurs) rampaging through modern society.
