Daily Blot
The Daily Blot is a tabloid newspaper that specializes in gossip and sensational headlines, mostly focused on toon celebrities and public figures. It is based out of the Pig Iron Building in Schnooklyn, Toon Town.
Publication history
The Blot was founded in 1974 by professional ne'er-do-well Boarace Mudde, who still serves as the paper's owner, publisher, editor-in-chief, and star reporter. In its first issue it declared that every scientific advance, every political event, every aspect of high culture and fine art, would all be completely ignored in favor of dishing the dirt on the stars. Mudde and the Blot managed to keep this high standard for eighteen months of publication, until an article accidentally acknowledge the existence of science as a concept. Mudde published a full retraction the following day, along with double the usual amount of libel to make up for it.
The Blot runs in full color every weekday, in large print with photographs every page to combat the short attention spans of its readership and its editor. It can and will publish any story to fill space, including those which are unsubstantiated and those which are blatantly false.
Current staff
- Boarace Mudde, editor-in-chief and more besides, treats his office like a literal pigsty and firmly believes in his personal motto of "muck makes money".
- Gavin Gadfly, freelance photographer, is locked in an eternal cycle of being hired-and-fired by the Blot on a daily basis.
