The Light Armored Police Department (LAPD) is the primary law enforcement agency in Hollywood. The LAPD gets its name from the light body armor worn by its members, which is good for stopping most small arms fire. Under almost all circumstances this armor is unnecessary, as the LAPD also has numerous heavily armored vehicles at its disposal and believes in excessive force as a first resort.
