The Heights is a geographical feature of the City of Hollywood, a series of columnar mesas, and also the colloquial name for the district that occupies it. There are exactly 92 individual mesas, divided by canyons between them, which have a total of 233 outcroppings. The tallest is 8,372ft above sea level, and the widest seventeen miles in diameter. The mesas have their own microclimate due to their elevation, with some seeing below-freezing temperatures all year round. Due to it being difficult to access yet still in the middle of the city, the area is highly-valued real estate, and home to many high-profile movie stars who like the combination of privacy with a short commute.
