The Soviet Union, officially known as the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), is a major world power. It has collapsed multiple times, most commonly through interference by way of the CIA, but has always eventually been restored, most commonly through funding from several major Hollywood studios in order to provide a suitable geopolitical villain for use in movies. The current Soviet Union is the sixth iteration, having been re-established in 2006.
