An animator is an artist with a mental link to the Animation, which theoretically allows their creative impulses to guide the formation of toons. However, it is equally likely that this may work the other way around, and their creative impulses are shaped by subconscious visions of toons. Regardless of direction, due to this connection animators are often mentally unstable in addition to being socially unwelcome. Most animators are human, but a rare few belong to other demographics.

Cerebral abnormalities

Accurate medical records of animators are rare, but a common thread among CT scans of animator brains is a distorted and hyperactive occipital lobe. Similar changes in other regions of the brain have been noted in mutants with psychic abilities, suggesting that it might be an alternate form of extra-sensory perception. However, no two scans (even from the same animator) show the same alterations, as if the physical state of their brains is constant flux.

These abnormalities very often lead to long-term health issues and psychological problems, including such complexes as Pygmalion syndrome. Further research into this topic is presently beyond Hollywood's capabilities to care enough about the well-being of animators.
